But enough complaining! This blog is all about happiness and how to always look on the bright side, which I've been doing since I woke up this morning. Last night I used a couple of my de-stressing methods, and let me tell you, I feel a whole lot better. So I thought I'd share my 5 favorites with all of you!
Yoga always puts me in a peaceful mindset. It is so relaxing and refreshing. I don't know why I don't do it on a regular basis anymore. I've decided though, that I am going to attempt to practice twice a week from now on.
I know baths aren't for everyone but personally, I love them. I find them to be so soothing, especially if you have some nice smelling bubble bath like I have from Bath & Body Works. I actually got this bad boy on sale for $6 during their semi-annual sale! They are always having great deals like that though, so I suggest you pick some up. The vanilla extracts that are in this little bottle are just somehow magical. When it absorbs in to your skin and nasal passages it really does relieve some stress. Or maybe it's all in my head. Either way, it works.
I know what you're thinking, I'm not paying $100 to get a massage to relieve stress. Yeah, me either. Now this may sound weird, go ahead and judge me if you want, but I swear it works. Take a tennis ball and rub out your neck. When those muscles get tight, you get headaches. Loosening them up a little bit will relieve a lot of tension and will eliminate some tension headaches.
My absolute favorite TV show is Friends. Sometimes just curling up in bed with Wrigley and having a little marathon is all I need. It doesn't make my problems go away, but it does put a smile on my face and make me laugh. I like to just close my eyes and laugh along. I usually end up falling asleep to it and wake up all happy and refreshed. Pop in your favorite show and just have a relaxing night in with no one bothering you. Napping/laying down/a good nights sleep can really be enough to turn yourself right back around to being the happy human that you are!
You know how when you break up with a guy and your friends always say, "Oh we'll come over and bring a tub of ice cream. It'll be ok!" Then you eat the whole thing and then what? You feel worse about yourself because you just devoured a whole gallon of ice cream! One thing you can control in your life is what you put in your body. A few days of healthy eating can make you feel really good about yourself and just in general make your body feel really good. So whatever bad stuff that you can't control will continue to go on until you're able to fix them, but at least you will be healthy and feel healthy. There's nothing worse than having a stomach ache + dealing with all the crap that's going on in your life. By eliminating the junk food you can subtract one thing from the pile of bad that may be building up in your life.
I hope you all had a better week than I did but if you didn't then give a couple of these a try. I think you'll feel a whole lot better :)
