No matter how old you are, you're going to have to deal with bullies. From your first visit to the park with your mom to someone you work with at your big kid job and everything in between. I think Amy hits the nail on the head with this episode of "Ask Amy" on this topic.
"It's never overreacting to ask for what you want and need." -Amy
The best way to deal with a situation with someone that makes you feel inferior is to tell them that's how you're feeling. It may make you even more vulnerable to them, but at least they are now aware of what they are doing to you and maybe even other people. Maybe they didn't know the way they phrase things hurts other people? Or maybe that is straight up their intention and you're letting them know they are definitely succeeding at it but at the same time it doesn't make them a good or more powerful person in your eyes. In turn you're actually making them the smaller person and you're the bigger person for standing up for yourself and those around you. So SPEAK UP and put that million dollar smile on because everything WILL be okay :)
