We escaped the cold this past weekend and hung out in some 70 degree weather...in Chicago! We went to the Garfield Park Conservatory and it was perfect for my mindset of "force spring to happen."
My best friend Ashlyn came out for a short visit, and we decided to explore somewhere new! So we trekked out to Garfield Park and enjoyed the warmth of the conservatory. We absolutely loved it. It literally made us so happy to be in a warm and bright place full of so much life. We walked around for about an hour or so and it was the perfect weekend "getaway."
Outfit details:
Sweater (old - similar) - Gap //Jeans - JCrew // Grey booties (old - similar) - DSW // Sunglasses - Dollar Store // Necklace (old - similar) - Francesca's
PS - I gave up shopping for Lent so please forgive the old but similar comment that you're going to be seeing on most outfits. I have to be creative with my old clothes, and I will try my best to find a similar style and priced item at the original place I got my piece from for all of you!

I'm not sure I can say the best part about the conservatory because I really think the warmth was the best part, but an awesome thing about it is that it's free! They accept donations to help keep the place running and beautiful though. Parking is also free there! The best advice I can give if you decide to drive is to leave your coat in the car and deal with the cold for the 2 minutes you have to walk from your car to the conservatory. You definitely won't need it inside and it was a pain to carry it around in there.
The conservatory has many different rooms and they all have different kinds of plants. We went to 7 of them because some of them were under construction. My favorite was the Show Room, which had a spectacular display of flowers. All the colors brought me so much happiness and the hope that spring will be here rather soon! I really loved how educational everything was, too. They had very simple facts that you could quickly glance over and have those "huh I didn't know that" moments.
I really loved that it was sunny when we went too and that I could wear my sunglasses! It felt like we were walking around in Florida.
