I finished reading Gone Girl last week. I was dying to finish it since I started but you know, there just isn't enough hours in a day. Anyways, this book really played on my emotions. For a woman in her mid-twenties who is engaged and so over the moon in love, this book really freaked me out. Especially since I have a psychology background, just like Amy...miss "gone girl." The whole book is definitely set up to blow your mind in the end. I gotta say though, it ended somewhat how I wanted it to, but that didn't really make me feel better about the whole thing. Gone Girl keeps you flipping the pages, but it left me very uneasy. You'll know what I mean once you read it.
The story goes like this: a girl and a guy fall madly in love and on their 5th wedding anniversary, the girl disappears. It looks like she's been kidnapped and no one can find her, so everyone's conclusion is: someone |
killed her. Many people think her husband killed her. He seems guilty, but not guilty enough. And innocent until proven guilt, right? The story takes many twists and turns making you think every which way as evidence is found. In the end, it's a crazy. Straight up crazy, but I'm glad I read it and found out what all the hype was about (from last year, ha!) I do recommend reading it and then we can watch the movie together! Because I still have yet to see it myself.
