These are probably my new favorite pair of wedges of all time. I'm obsessed with the polka dots and since they're a neutral color they go with almost everything! These pretty things are going to be getting a lot of use this summer. I purchased them at Francesca's for $48. The good news is they still have them and they are now on sale for $28.80!
Now I know you're all thinking, really a sweater in May/summer time? However, I'm one of those gals that freezes in air conditioning. I can't even tell you how excited I am to have found a light weight summery sweater that I can wear to the movies, on late night walks, and bonfires. I got this online from J.Crew Factory for $28! That was a lucky day though because they were doing a 40% flash sale the day I bought it, but you can still purchase it now for $34.50.
It's not a home picture without Wrigley in it! A great story about Wrigley and these candles though is we took Wrigley to the mall with us a few weeks ago to do some shopping and one of our stops was Bath & Body Works. We of course were going for a 2 for $22 candle sale and walked away with some of the best smelling candles. (Wrigley helped us pick them out, of course.) It was so much fun though because all the sales reps in the store were fawning over Pup and we were literally in there for a good 30 minutes because everyone wanted to see him. It was just one of those really fun and happy moments I don't think I'm going to forget for a long time and makes me love B&BW that much more. Anyways, our scents that we're currently burning right now and that I'm obsessed with are Watermelon Lemonade, Coastal Beach, and Cedarwood!
Now before you all ask how wonderful it is, I actually haven't read it yet. I bought it last week at Half Price Books and can't wait to start it! I'm still reading Pride & Prejudice...sorry I'm slow! But definitely check back in the coming weeks because I will be reading Bossypants next! I bought it there for $7.99, which is what it is on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble. It's in perfect condition though, so I can't really complain too much.
I'm quite in love with the blog Tipsy Writer these days. Megan runs this awesome blog where she posts tips and facts for everything in life! You can find workout motivation tips, facts about love and laughter, interview tips, and so much more. My favorite in the last couple weeks has been 15 Interesting Facts about Laughing. It literally put a smile on my face, and I think back to those facts any time I'm down now. This is a blog that is definitely worth your time.
As most of you know, I'm not a huge makeup guru. However, I do know the importance of good brushes, but I've always been too cheap to go out and buy a good set of Sigma or MAC brushes. One day this past month though I was browsing the beauty section of my T.J. Maxx for new perfume and happened upon this Stella brush set! It was a wopping $10. Naturally I was like ok it's time to bite the bullet and just buy some because really am I ever going to beat a set for $10? No, probably not. I think they're so pretty too with the flower print on the handles! My makeup has been looking 10x better these days, too. I've gotten so many compliments on how smooth my face looks, and oh I just love them so much! Ok, I'll stop now...but really go check T.J Maxx, I'm sure they still have sets every where.
Last week, Caleb and I went on a double date with our amazing friends Liz and Tony to literally the BEST BBQ place on the face of the planet. It's called Real Urban BBQ. To make the night even better, after we finished dinner, we hopped on over next door to The Beer Market. They have hundreds of beers to choose from and even a few wine selections for any non-beer lovers. The coolest part about this place though is you can order in food from the surrounding restaurants! I see a lot of Real Urban BBQ meals at The Beer Market in my future. At RUB we ordered a slab of ribs, and a 3 meat combo of pork, sausage, and burnt ends. At the Beer Market I wasn't too adventurous and ordered an Angry Orchard, but I really want to try the New Planet 3R Raspberry Ale and the root beer!
The new Black Keys album titled Turn Blue came out this month so of course I went and bought the CD on the day it was released. Then a week or so later when we got our record player, I bought the vinyl...which came with a CD. I also bought tickets to their concert here at the United Center in September...yeah I'm obsessed, but it's alright. Turn Blue is such a great album, though! It's more laid back than their other albums, and sort of has a bluesy feel to it. I love it. Definitely worth a download or a purchase.
Speaking of my new record player...it is probably the coolest thing I've ever owned! Caleb surprised me and bought it off of Amazon for me. It was $79.95, which is quite the deal. It can run on battery too, so we can take it with us on picnics and days to the beach! There is also an audio out, so we can plug in our phones and play music from our phone on it, too. It comes in a bunch of different colors, but we decided the turquoise would look best in our apartment. We discovered that you can also buy them at Nordstrom for the same price! Who would have thought.
I hope you all had a great May and are looking forward to the unofficial start of summer that comes with June!
