The National Parks System in the US is one of the best. They have incredibly high standards for the parks and keep them impeccable and natural. Recently we visited Cuyahoga Valley National Park just outside of Cleveland, OH. We had an incredibly fun time and our favorite part of the weekend trip was hiking with our dog, Wrigley! Here are the top 5 hikes you need to do while visiting Cuyahoga Valley. Dogs are welcome on all the trails but you must keep them on a 6 ft leash at all times.
Ledges Trail
This is a two mile loop hike and is moderately difficult. You will walk around some impressive rocks and plateaus and it will lead you to this miraculous ledge! You will get to enjoy an amazing view of the valley while getting some great exercise.
Brandywine Gorge Trail
Start out at the Stanford House and take the Stanford Trail past the campgrounds. It will take you straight to the Brandywine Gorge Trail and will be in total a 1.5 mile hike on an easy trail. You will end up at a big and beautiful waterfall called Brandywine Falls.
Buckeye Trail
Start out in Boston, OH and take the Buckeye Trail up to Blue Hen Falls. This is a 3.5 mile hike one way and is difficult. It is well worth the exercise up the massive cliffs to see the falls though!
Lake Trail
Take the Lake Trail from Kendall Lake after visiting this must see lake. The trail is only a mile long and is easy with very little elevation change.
Chippewa Creek Trail
Hike this trail from the Brecksville Reservation. It is a 2.5 mile hike and is of moderate difficulty. You can meet up with the Scenic Overlook Trail which is only a quarter of a mile and see some breathtaking views of the national park.
