Happy Friday! I'm back today to chat about another book or should I say play! One of my life goals is to read all of William Shakespare's works. I'm a big fan and it's always been one of those fun antidotes I want to be able to say about myself! Last week I checked another play off my list of works I've read, "Two Gentlemen of Verona."
The play is set in Verona, Italy, of course and two of the main characters are yep you guessed it, two gentlemen. They both are coveting women and go through many trials in the process of winning their love and vice versa with the ladies. There are funny servants involved that crack a lot of jokes to guide you through the play. It's a comedy and yes, it does turn out happy!
This play was just okay in my opinion. The story line didn't intrigue me that much. There were a few funny parts but nothing that had me chuckling like other works of his. This play isn't as well known as some of his others like Romeo and Juliet or A Midsummer's Nights Dream, and I'm concluding this is why...because it is just "okay." It's a short read though and worth your time if you like me, want to read through the many works of Shakespeare. If you have no interest in all his works though, I would pass this one up.
