This book is incredible. Mindy Kaling was one of my favorites before I read her book but has almost taken the top spot from Amy Poehler for woman who inspire me. There is nothing better than a real woman, telling it like it is, and not letting the haters bring her down. That is exactly how Mindy is. She knows she is perfect in her own way, which in turn makes her all around perfect, in my opinion. You don't have to be a stick skinny, Victoria's Secret model to be someone's role model. No. That is and always will be an unrealistic view of women in this world. If you ask me, Mindy is the perfect role model. She's intelligent, has the best job in the world because she's doing what she loves to do and makes people laugh so hard they cry, she's confident, and she has a personality. In this book, Mindy chronicles her life in terms of how she was feeling back then and how she feels about it now. She really is just your average girl who worked hard to get what she wanted and didn't give up until she got it. Now that is what a role model is. This book is hilarious. I was laughing at every other page. She also includes pictures of different events in her life and let me just say, the ones of her childhood are amazing. Mindy, you are fantastic, I love you, I look up to you, and I really need to catch up on The Mindy Project from the last two weeks...I think I'll go do that now.
Like I always say, read it! I know you'll love it!
UP NEXT: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
*Yes, I've read it about 200 hundred times, but I just feel like it, ok? ;)
