Happy 2015 friends! I hope you all had a fun end to 2014 and 2015 has started off great for you all! It was a very fitting end of the year for me, I spent a lot of time with my lovely family, getting refreshed for this excitingly insane year, and finishing this book.
Where do I even begin with The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand? It was spectacular. If that word even defines this novel properly. The amount of hard work and passion that was put in to this work shines through on every single page. There wasn't a second that I got tired of this book or needed a break from it...and it's over 700 pages. I think that says a lot.
To the naked eye, the novel is about architects. All these architects going about their lives and building buildings and how they evolve from classic to modern. However, when you dig deeper, you realize all the philosophy and psychology that comes with human nature. You're able to see the division in the types of people we have in this world. It's almost comical how much you can relate yourself and others to these characters. It's intriguing to see how all their lives pan out based on how society evolves. It spans over some 20 years, so you really get to know all the characters, which is extremely important for the end of this novel. Plus, there is a love story involved and that mixed with psychology will have me hooked right from the start.
Personally, I loved this book and it has been added to the favorites column of my book club. The story line was always interesting and took a lot of twists and turns but ended exactly as it should. I couldn't figure out how she was going to end the story but due to the fact that every aspect of the book was pure perfection I trusted she would end it exactly how it should be ended. All I have to say about the whole book and especially how it ended is that it gave me hope for humanity.
READ IT, I KNOW YOU'LL LOVE IT!
