ROMA PASS/TOURS
|
The Roma Pass will last you 3 days and get you in to 2 museums or archaeological sites as well as free use of the city's public transit system (Metro) for 36 euro per person. You will need to pick up the pass at a collection site. You need to purchase the pass at least 5 days prior to it's pick up. Check the list of free museums and sites offered throughout Rome though prior to purchasing the pass. The Collosseum and Palatine Hill/Roman Forum are free on the first Sunday of every month, as well. The one and only tour I recommend paying for is a tour of the Vatican. The line to get in to the Vatican museums (which yes are technically free) can be up to 3 hours long. It is worth purchasing a skip the line ticket to get in immediately plus you will have the pleasure of having a tour guide walk you through the entire museum, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica and get to learn about the history in your own language. We purchased our tour on Viator.com. It was around $75 per person and lasted 3 hours. |
