Hello there! It's been awhile since this little section of Yellow Mondays has seen anything new. We are in the process of fixing up the blog section of the site now since the main site is filled with up to date and reliable information for travelers!

Khorasani Kebap Sultanahmet >> Ticarethane Sk. No:39, Turkey Order: Cold appetizers (mezes) >> Spicy Hot Salad & Hummus Kebabs >> Kebab w/ pistachio & Chicken shish kebab Pizzas >> Turkish pizza (from Antep) Drink >> Raku Dress: Casual Turkish food is delicious. The Turkish cuisine has a lot of spices and a lot of seafood. Get out of your comfort zone and try something new as you might not get a chance to try the dish anywhere else. Kebabs are a staple in Turkey and rightly so...they are delicious! Yummy meats and pita bread...need I say more? Packing for this trip was a challenge that I was excited for but also dreading. At first, Caleb and I were going to try just bringing one suitcase for the both of us. After we started though, we realized what a bad idea that was going to be. We weren't going to have any room to bring goodies back home with us and were running the risk of our baggage being to heavy to even begin with. So we upgraded to two suitcases and a carry on each. We had 13 days to pack for so that's pretty good if you think about it! Here's a breakdown of all I packed for each day.
We're back in action over here at Yellow Mondays! Caleb and I had the best time ever with all our family and friends, the greatest wedding day ever, and the most adventurous/romantic honeymoon in Turkey and Italy. I'm so excited to share all of our experiences with you plus a bunch of tips and tricks I've got stuffed up my sleeve now.
I want to start out with the start a new mini series I'm going to be doing on here - the Pre-Travel Checklist! The first one, which is being released today is for the first planning part of a trip. The things that should be done as far out as 6 months out but mostly around 2 months out. Go ahead and Pin/Save the cheat sheet above for your convenience! As most of my faithful Yellow Mondays readers know, Caleb and I have been on a long journey of love for the last 5 1/2 years with 1 year of wedding planning. For those of you who are new to this little corner of the internet, my fiance and I are getting married on Saturday! Hooray! With this incredible day approaching very quickly and us leaving for our honeymoon to Italy right away, I have decided to go on a minor hiatus from blogging. I apologize that I was unable to pre-write some posts for you all while we are gone, but if you've gotten married you know how crazy the last month can be...and if not...you'll find out! I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you for following along on all our adventures. You all brighten our days and keep us going! Don't worry though this is not adieu, just see ya later. We'll be back in mid-October and will be sharing all our Europe adventures with you!
However, if you can't seem to wait that long to see what we're up to this weekend or while in Italy please follow us on Instagram! Diana | Caleb See you in a few weeks!
I want to start off by saying a huge THANK YOU to Barrio Taco for taking us in. We were smelly, tired, hot, and had a pup, and with no one else in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland willing to feed us, you are without a doubt our favorite spot in Cleveland to have a bite to eat...we don't even to go anywhere else to say that.
Anyways, we ended up cutting our camping trip at Cuyahoga Valley National Park short by a day due to the heat over Labor Day weekend. We had a fun day in Cleveland planned out for the Monday of Labor Day, but decided to grab lunch there on Sunday instead so we could head home from there a day early. We joked and said that we gave up on camping and went and had brunch in the city (ha!) However, the place we had picked out for lunch on Monday was closed on Sunday. That made finding the perfect place to eat a little difficult. We were turned away from many places because we had our dog Wrigley with us. However, in the end we hit the jackpot by finding Barrio in the Tremont neighborhood! Ok now on to the amazing food...
Even though the main concentration of a camping trip is all the fun things you get to do like hiking, canoeing, and making s'mores, you still need to figure out what you're going to pack and wear while you're doing all these fun things! The weekend that we went camping in Cuyahoga Valley National Park was a hot one. I'm talking like hottest weekend of the year, 90 degrees hot. I had to make conscious decisions on what I was going to wear to ensure that I wouldn't overheat but I would also have enough protection while hiking through the woods.
The National Parks System in the US is one of the best. They have incredibly high standards for the parks and keep them impeccable and natural. Recently we visited Cuyahoga Valley National Park just outside of Cleveland, OH. We had an incredibly fun time and our favorite part of the weekend trip was hiking with our dog, Wrigley! Here are the top 5 hikes you need to do while visiting Cuyahoga Valley. Dogs are welcome on all the trails but you must keep them on a 6 ft leash at all times.
Camping is lots and lots of fun. But packing for a camping trip can be extra tricky. It's always cold in the morning, hot in the afternoon, and humid at night...at least in the Midwest it is. So packing for 3 different types of temperatures can be tough. Not to mention what if it rains?! Well, for our camping trip this past weekend we had all those scenarios to the extreme it seems like. Even the rain...it was supposed to thunderstorm the 2nd afternoon that we were on our trip, but guess what...there wasn't even a cloud in the sky! Go figure. Here is what I brought along though to ensure I was fully prepared to have a great time no matter what the weather threw at us.

Smartphones are great. They open up a whole world of possibilities for us, especially with travel. There are so many travel apps out there but I'm going to let you in on the secret of the 9 best ones that are out there today!
