It has been a long winter as we all know, and the time has come to go out and explore. Starting this spring, Diana and I began our “Epic Exploration 14” series, which is a reason to go out and try new things.
So far we have…
If you know me I enjoy looking my best for all occasions. The daily grind of work puts a strain on the
wardrobe, so finding fun and most importantly, comfortable clothes for the weekend, is essential. For
all the ladies reading this and their men, here are a few ideas for comfortable outfits for your own
explorations. Break out the shorts and the shades its getting warm out….. Thank goodness!!!!
Day tripping in the city-
There is nothing better than a comfy pair of shorts to build your outfit off of. J.Crew is always in
supply of comfortable and stylish shorts. I picked out a soft and light shirt to keep it cool from Old Navy.
You can tie it all together with a fun and colorful belt from Vineyard Vines. Warby Parker will protect
your eyes from those harsh summer rays, fortunately while making you look handsome. If you are
exploring than that means you will be walking…. A lot!! So get shoes that match the occasion. Banana
Republic has these wonderful shoes that your soles will thank you for later. You are set to walk the
streets of the city or lounge around the park for lunch.
So far we have…
- Journeyed Downtown to get Garrett's popcorn
- Ran the Race to Wrigley 5k for Charity
- Enticed our taste buds at the Doughnut Vault
- Strolled through Chicago’s very own Chinatown

Weekend Dinner Date-
Ok don’t get me wrong, jeans are so nice to wear and there are so many great uses for them, but really for a date with the love of your life…. Ditch the denim and put on some real pants. Hands down the best pants I own are from Gap, and they fit wonderfully. They are light and breathe well when the mercury rises. My favorite outfit right now is my navy chinos with a light purple dress shirt. Roll the sleeves up to be more casual, and to show off your well-designed Timex watch “Never late, no excuses”. Rockport shoes and a belt to match will keep your outfit in line and on its feet all night. Socks are my one flaw. I love them so much that I had to add them to the outfit. In all honesty they make the outfit. Try some patterns like stripes, argyle, anchors, lobsters, foxes, and whales, whatever you want. The more vivid the color the better they are. It is something that catches the eye and brings an air of sophistication to the same old getup. With your outfit put together go out and enjoy a night on the town. The Pump Room or the Tortoise Club are my recommendations.
